Problem Statement

Renting in Nigeria is broken. Renters pay ₦15,000 or more in inspection fees to see five properties they could have ruled out from a photo. Agents inflate rents by 30% and pocket the difference, with little transparency about what a place actually costs or who you are really dealing with.

Thought Process

RentIt was born out of frustration—the kind that comes from wasting money and time on a process that should be straightforward. We started in Benue State, because that is where we saw the problem most acutely. We are building the platform we wish had existed: one where finding a home does not depend on who you know or how many doors you can afford to knock on.

Solution

RentIt is a property discovery platform for selling and leasing houses, flats, and villas across Nigeria. Renters browse verified listings by category, filter by location, property type, bedrooms, and budget, and connect with landlords directly—with real-time booking availability instead of opaque agent networks.
